One of the most common questions that I get asked ishow I manage my time as a full-time content creator.
I will not lie; I love to be busy; in fact, I have always thrived on a packed schedule. One of the main reasons I always wanted to work for myself is that I often find that我努力工作并不像corporat“欣赏”e setting and often taken advantage of.Now that I work for myself, I know all my hard work is for something I love and my dream career.
Before we get into my schedule, I want to start by saying I am aHUGE To-do list person, and I love to be superORGANIZED.
I map out my contentone month in advance,and I always film my videosat least 1.5 weeks in advance.While I understand this is not everyone’s filming style, this is what helps me stay organized.
I like totreat my brand as a full-time job.
I scheduleworking hours整整一天,我也计划lunch breaks, vacation days, and proper sick days. This allows me not to overwork myself and prevent myself from burning out.
However, I do make sure thatI am working when it is working hours,whether it is testing recipes, filming, editing, doing admin work, or grocery shopping.
Below is an example of how I schedule my workday:
FILMING DAY
10 am – 11 amZoom call with my team, answer email, breakfast and also getting ready
11 am – 12 pmposting time (IG + TIKTOK) and answering DMs and comments
12 pm – 12:30 pmlunch break
12:30 pm – 1:00 pmsetting up filming station
1:00 pm – 4:00 pmfilming
4:00 pm – 5:00 pmclean up and break
5:00 pm – 6:00 pmIG post goes up and answering DMs and Comments
6:00 pm – 8:00 pmbreak and dinner time
8:00 pm – 10:00 pmediting and preparing deliverables for brand deals and projects
10:00 pm – 12:00 pmblog post and newsletter
I like to schedule my week base on what I am doing that day. I make sure tofill out my calendar every Sunday nightto reflect on what is due this week and what I want to work on.
Example,
MONDAY –Admin + Meeting Day
TUESDAY –Filming + Blogging
WEDNESDAY –Admin + Recipe Testing Day
THURSDAY –Filming + Blogging
FRIDAY –Meeting (half day)
SATURDAY –Filming (half day)
SUNDAY –DAY OFF
I will detailwhat recipes are going LIVE this week, what I want to film this week, and what recipes I want to test this week.
This also helps mesave money on grocery shoppingas I am never wasting products since I know exactly what I will be trying and filming for the week.
During my off days, I will give myself acomplete social media break to reset and spend time with family and friends.I don’t work till midnight every night; however, everyone is different. I tend to be more creative at night when I like to write my blog posts.
The best part about working for yourself is that you are incomplete control of your schedule;however, it is importantnot to overwork yourself and also to be efficient with your time as you are wearing many hats.
